Wig day!

Yep! today is a wig day.  Little Una was dropped off at my apparentment at 6 this morning and the little thing needs a wig!  So that's exactly what she's getting and HOMG is a single strand of yarn a pain to work with.  And of course my tight little stitches aren't much help either.  Round after round of TIIIINY little stitches with a single strand of simply soft.. Harsh.\

But If I get this wig all the way done (HA!) then I'll work on cassie's new punk wig that got started but never finished... YAY! completion!

Going ape

Sooooo I am going a liiiittle nuts still over the Pixiu.  I want to know sooo much about it, but it will be at least a month till anyone gets one... so at least another month till I see user pics... and at least a month until my sister's doll gets here.  Oh yea, my sister was able to get one... she's flush right now, and so she can get one.. now... while they are cheap.  I'm so jealous... and there's no cure for it. T_T  I want so much... so many dolls.  Still no word on the small comfort from Mu doll, which irritates me.  there are so many neat, cool, wonderful dolls that I want on my list... and with the promise of adult dragons T_T I'm so looking forward to this new stuff.  Resinsoul can't come out with new dolls fast enough for me.  And I certainly can't buy what I want fast enough.

Story:  The son of the Dragon Prince and his Concubine, this little troublemaker is full of princely vigor and playfullness.  Probably the most approachable out of the three He wants nothing more than to have a sister to torment as well as to get into trouble rolling in his fathers fine things.
History: His history so far is short, When Pixiu came out I squealed like a fan girl.  He's adorable.  I don't like the original torso that he comes with so I asked around to see if he -should- fit on the standard torso and it sounds like he should.  He went and rearranged my royal prince and his servant so he could join them.  Now we'll just have to see if he ends up getting his wish for a little sister.

Story:  Rosaline is the Dragon Prince's Servant/concubine.  She was captured by his father and given to him as a child.  She is subservient but spiteful, her relationship with the Prince will never be more than his tool, and she is irritated with that.  She fancies herself the Princess and will act violently towards anyone who thinks they can take the prince "away" from her.  She has birthed his child (happily it would seem) and mothers him protectively and as sternly as she can.
History: Not yet purchased, but she's already got some history.  When Wu, Yao, and Li came out I disliked all three, I didn't hate them but I didn't like them.  But I started seeing Yao in a different light and I thought, well I like her but I don't have a place for her.  Then Ming came out, and I had said that when the hooved boy came out, if I liked him I might think about a Yao as his servant or mate.  Then I LOOOOVED him.  Yep just straight up loved his face.  Torso could use some work but the face was perfect.  So then Yao was his elven slave since I decided he was an ornery prince.  Then, Pixiu came out and the word about a 1/4 sized dragon and this little dysfunctional dragon family came into my brains.

Story:  This is the Dragon Prince,  he's not 100% yet, but here's what I know.  He's the son of a dragon that rules the forest that  most of my fantasy dolls live in.  He's spoiled and headstrong.  I'm not sure yet if he's totally unlikeable or if he has a redeeming quality.  Either way he has been gifted a Concubine/Servant (Rosaline) a lesser dragon female Who he treats very well, if only because he won't have his things broken.  He will have at least one (as of yet unnamed) son with Rosaline.
History:  He is yet to be purchased, but he's got a little story behind him.  He started off as a ming, just a regular ming.  But then Pixiu came out and I got wind that resinsoul was thinking about making an adult dragon doll and I about shat myself.  I was already reeling with my brain demanding that cuteness in my collection, then when I found out about the 1/4 stuff everything started falling into place.  I had never really liked Rosaline as a normal doll, I felt it was just too plain, even if it would work ok, I wanted her to be pink but it didn't make that much sense.... and it drove me nuts.  This fixed it all.

Dear Resinsoul,

I love you.  I love you even though you are going to be the biggest drain on my bank account I have ever known.  I love you even though you're gonna kill me with excitement.  Even if you're trying to end my marriage because my husband will kill me if I end up with 20+ dolls.

Ok so anyone watching might be wondering what the fuck I'm on about.  My -Favorite- company Resinsoul is looking to do my pocket book and my marriage in by putting out a FABULOUS new doll.  It is a 1/6 sized dragon.  Yep,  Dragon.  With little resin wings, and little resin tail and little resin tallons and claws... and it is love.  It took only a -DAY- of knowing that the doll was out for me to decide not only what color it would be, but what it's story is and where it fits in my collection.  Unfortunately this little trouble maker has rocked the list as it were by appearing. Especially being that there is promise of a 1/4 sized Dragon since we all love this one so much.  And OH man that fucks with my list paradime.  My Yao and Ming are going to be getting a redo, not 100% on how it will work since the MSD ones aren't out, but I'm hoping that it will be soon and I'm just absolutely going bizwonkos.

So... I've got a bunch of new stuff... A bunch of stuff in the works... and damn it all if I haven't finished a damn thing since I finished Val's shirt damn near a month ago... I mean wow... lazy.  Of course In my defense I have been working on the kid's Halloween costumes, they were Sokka and Aang from Avatar.  Now this weekend I have a slightly Halloween Doll meet to go to... and Val has a shitty costume from last year, Cassie's costume never really got finished, and Lotus and Lor have nothing... >.> Yea... I gotta get to work on that shit T_T

Good news, my kitchen finally got colors picked out for it and I have the stuff to make the Baking cupboard/drysink/whatever it actually is have a "marble" counter top, and I should decide if the rest of it is going to be white white or if I'm going to leave it the antique, brushed white that it is at current.  I think I actually like the off white that it is so it might stay that color... not positive though.  I need to set up a photo shoot at some point for a kitchen photo story, I'm thinking like "move in day" but that means I'll have to make TINY doll sized cardboard boxes, but at least that would explain why there's nothing in the kitchen... but... I don't have a lot of the other props you really need for a kitchen... like... a stove... RAWR! seriously... there's shit wrong with me... I just realized I should start collecting those little food erasers so I have something to put in the damn kitchen and on the plates >.< And I still need plates T_T at least I have tuperware for them.

So... I have gainful employment, and very little time to work on dolly stuff.  At some point I'll post pics of the few things I've been working on since.... forever.  I've been finding, collecting, having things bought for me, and I hope that soon my dolls will have some more parts of the ever so important doll kitchen.


Yea.  The inanimate objects are getting a kitchen.  the whole fucking thing.  Why?  because I'm an idiot.  Ok so it's actually because I managed to find that cast iron skillet way back.  But it's at least a little bit because I'm a moron.  I mean... I'm deciding what colors their kitchen will be, trying to figure out how to make a kitchen floor, my mom got me a baking cupboard, I managed to talk a Tupperware consultant into letting me buy toy Tupperware off of her, mom and I finished the table, and are working on figuring out chairs for my two adults, and possibly how to make a high chair for the baby... all because of two tiny pieces of cast iron.  WHO DOES THIS SHIT? Clearly the answer is me... I decided that I needed all this shit because of a miniature cast iron skillet.

So yea.  In other news I'm thinking I might make some Tees for Val and Cassie, and what I'm thinking, is I'm going to be stretching them on cardboard and paint them with ink from work.  We'll see how well that works... Prolly not that well... but we'll see.

History: So I wanted Lori so badly, that one day after having seen a Small Comfort come available on the MP and be totally out of my reach again... AGAIN... I decided to go look through what all was available on Junky spot.  I really distain Hujoo dolls, they have these Enormous heads with Huge eyes and gross little bodies.  So I just was going to check out how much they cost and move on.  But I wanted to see only the smallest doll.  There I came across a Hujoo I had never even heard of before, the "baby" size So I went and looked at the pics and was like "Yea, those are actually pretty cute.  They look nothing like a normal Hujoo."  then I looked down at the price because... well thats what I was doing, looking at the prices.  I just about shit myself.  25 bucks without a face up.  So I did some more research, decided which head I liked and then offered my information to my dearest hubby.  for only 25 bucks I could have a stand in for the doll that kept giving me fits.  Something to placate my want for a baby doll and help me not scream at the computer screen every time I saw a small comfort come available.  And he agreed. 
* When I finally got Lori poor lor had no place in my group.  One of mom's friends had a suve too, so she asked to borrow her.  I happily let her have the doll.  In just a month or two mom had her named and asked me if she could pay me for her.  I told her she didn't have to pay me it was ok.  Mom insisted and TADA! Lor turned into Ellie

COLOR!

So.... I've been offered the chance to help mold the new RS purple... and I'll finish this post when I get a chance... cus wow

Edit~ Ok, I have like... 2 minutes and some brain. Unfortunately it seems that Sun doesn't understand "reference" which being that there is some serious language barrier action going on here I'm not particularly shocked.  the #1 is supposed to be the current lavender, this muddy, very skin toneish redish grey.  the other three are light purple, periwinkle and "true" purple respectively.  I hope against hope that it turns out that he picks one of the latter three. I'll be super excited when he sends some samples my way ^_^

RAAAGE

OH MY GOD I'M GOING TO END MY KIDS!

I brought My dolls to this, fairly boring, very slow job that I'm working atm, it's in an office and I have to spend lots of time alone so I thought it would be pretty awesome to bring my dolls along and chill out with them.

Turns out my kids managed to damnage Cassie... My totally 100% irreplacable gift from a friend and my favorite doll.  Val is scratched in the wrist but he is replacable, not a gift and most importantly it's not a big deal... Cassie has a MASSIVE chip out of the inside of her wrist to go along with all the scratches and garfs.  Apparently when I found them repositioned the kids had been pulling the wrists out and letting them go back in and did it wrong. 

I'm furious.... I'm devistated.... I'm at a loss.  I can't stand Cassie being messed up, I can't replace the arm part because she's so yellowed, the only thing I'm going to be able to do is put up a willing to buy on the MP of DoA and hope someone with a siggnifficatnly yellowed BBB female MSD body responds.  The only other option is to buy her a new body or body part.... and yellow it.  which... wow, I don't know if I can get it yellow enough.  If I were to buy her a new body would I buy the same body that needs so much work to get it to work corectly and look nice? or do I buy the slimmer body that looks nice but isn't Cassie's body?  I don't know.  I'm jsut really upset.  First thing I'll do is to try to repair her wrists, I had considered taking her wrists back even more, and now it looks like I don't have a choice on if I try or not.

Retard Squee

So I talked the hubby into letting me get a Hujoo baby... they are only 25 bucks, no face up of course.  I'd always rather paint them myself and getting a face up on them costs an extra 20 O.o it nearly doubles the doll's price.  Plus I'd wanna do the face myself... and I have no idea how you'd take off a face up on abs plastic... Oh yea, she's plastic not resin... which is interesting but I'm not really in much of a world of caring about it.  She's gonna be a nice, cute place holder for Lori, I'ma call her Lor as a place holder name, and she's going to be a really good size guestimation, yea she'll be too big in comparison, but she's around 5 CM larger than a small comfort.

But yea, I'm super stoked, I'm going to buy her from Junkyspot as soon as I have enough for her and Val's shoes (I'm like 20 bucks short XD ) so I'm expecting to put through the order in the next week or 2... I'm looking very forward to it, this'll be my first non RS/BBB doll, and mostly I'm getting her so that I can participate in the Junky spot photo contests... because I FLIPPIN LOVE the contests and I wanna join them so bad.. even if I don't ever win... I still wanna friggin be able to try.

Oh and on a different tangent, I was able to get one of the guys at work to print me a chest print on some fabric so i can make Val a Tshirt with a real screen print on it... so that'll be badass ^_^

Big baby

So for a while now I've been thinking about how the blog dolls I did were just... a little too small.  It was hard to get enough differentiation between different heads, especially on the fairies and Lori.  Plus I wasn't 100% pleased with Cassie and the rest... Sooo I decided to take the plunge into making them bigger... Well at first I was like Oh..twice the size won't be so bad... Then half way through refining the larger doll I realized it was ... a little too big.  BUt the detail was really coming together... So I thought.. well I'll do 3/4ths of that size >.< well now that I'd done the larger one... this was kinda tortuously small in comparison, trying to get the details... So I decided that I'd make a new Lori in each size... And double the size one by a land slide.  So meet the new, enlarged blog doll of Lori next to the old one..

I can't help but love the adorable little look on her face T_T I want her... I'll be updating all the blog dolls and adding them into their profiles.  the old ones will still be used when I don't know what to do with the doll.

Again with the Small comfort Fate? Really?

So once again...  A small comfort came available and wouldn't you know it, I don't have any money to buy it.  I have some money saved back for it... but NOT ENOUGH. >.> Yea.  they are insistent on selling the SmC with a bunch of stuff they bought for it so they bumped the price to 160 bucks... and don't you know it I only planned as far as 100... and only have 50 saved up.  Yep.  That's right.  ONCE AGAIN fate dangled a human headed (oh well.. I can get an elf head I'm sure) Small comfort in front of my nose and when my hands reached out to grab it Fate laughs and pulls the fucking doll right back out of my grasp.

It wouldn't be bad if it was any of the other dolls on my list.  I'd be like.. Eh.  whatever.  This sucks.  But NO it had to be the ONLY ONE that I can't buy from a dealer.  I can't buy the head separately, I can't buy the body at all, and I'm just absolutely beside myself with rage and irritation.

I wish it wasn't so hot out cus I'd take a walk to calm down, but taking a walk today with the heat index would probably kill my fat ass.

Project mod

So if you read this post, you'll know that I've had a mod project halfheartedly in mind.  If not.. go read or skip this one... it's pretty hinging on that post...

So I think I've gone and come up with my first mod project doll.  I mentioned wanting extra arms and at one point Daemon suggested an extra pair of legs to make a doll more "spider" like.  Well I currently have a picture on my sketchbook I take to work of a single jointed body with 4 legs.  Centaur style.  modding a second lower torso to be shorter, modding a hole in the back of the other one, modding the "top" of the second torso's hips so that the legs can pull further forward and look more like it can walk.  Theres a good chance that I'm going to use the double jointed legs and mod the top of the thigh so it'll fit in the single joitned body, same with the arms...

It's possible the face will be a fei with the eyes modded open in a more sinister curve.  I -will- be modding the eyebrow area so that each side has 4 small "eyes" either above or in the eyebrow area.  I'm trying to decide if her eyes would be black or some other sinister color.  I'm not sure if I'm going to drill tiny holes in the forehead and use earnings or if I'm going to just paint it with something to make it puffed up and gloss the piss out of it.

So she'll have 4 arms, 4 legs, I might even make some pains to make her torso joint more distinct so that she looks a little "segmented"   Hair is questionable... I might either give her a weird looking wig or  no hair at all... there's a chance I might switch her human feet out for the hooves (if I can see the hooves in person and next to an appropriate doll before this actually starts...) because the hooves look more like spider feet.

Face up I plan on giving her a "mandible" jaw line, think the not yet split open jaws from the crazy vamps in blade 2... dark sinister and other wise I'm a little blank oncolors and the like.

Dolly-ing along

So if you've looked at the doll profiles you may have noticed the little... pixel things... on the side of most of them.. them by me Blog dolls.  They are a fairly accurate rendition of the dolls I own or plan to own (or have helped come to be blah blah) out of pixel art.  Now lots of other people do waaay cooler stuff with pixels than me... Make no mistakes, I'm REALLY aware that they are fairly sub par.  BUT I love them... hard core.  and I thought, since I've been making so many of them lately, and not all of them have profiles here, well I wanted to show them off all together.

the wonder of this is that the males are taller than the chicks.. the 1/6ths one is her "correct" height and the baby doll is painstakingly pixeled to her correct proportions of tiny as hell.  I've been considering doubling the size of the dolls but i think that will actually make them too big.  I might start it out with Cassie and decide if I like the new size >.>

Story:  This is Saties lover.  She once was a normal Dryad then her tree died, some how she survived and became a deadwood dryad.  The life that sustains it's self on decomposition kept her going, she protects what wilts so that a new blossom can grow.  She's lucky to have Satie around, Satie found her while she was weak and helped her hide from some outsiders who thought she was an undead.  The pair have been nearly inseparable ever since.
History:While I havn't gotten her yet, Originally this doll was going to be a forest fairy with a bei and a bao as her back up... then... well I discovered that the Lilac resin was not all that purple.  Still wanting a doll in the resin color even though I couldn't think of what i could do with it I back burnered it.  Then one day at work I was trying to decide what color to make my little fairies and the "deadwood Dryad" thing just jumped into my head and solidified the crap out of it's self.  And thats how she got to be what she is ^_^.
* So She came in just fine, except her eye walls were super thin.  I was able to mod them open but it took way too much of the structure out of her eyes and I had to ask for another head.  Was able to get the second head modded and she's looking great!

So RS put out their new hooved boy... and I'm smitten.  I looked at him and I about exploded.  I love him.  I'm smitten.  If you look to the side of this blog and look at the "planned" list there are two new names on there.  He is "The Prince" And he LOOKS like a prince of the forest. I'm so introuble because a Prince needs to have a servant to attend him.... So now I added a Ming (the new boy) and a Yao to my list... and it's just TERRIBLE I don't have enough money for even ONE doll... not even one HEAD, Let alone two new ones on my list.  And I'm just smitten.  I think he looks so neat... and he's got this young expressive face... T_T  Worse yet He's got new hands... So.. Val has more new hands he needs T_T I'm soo screwed...

Feather Fall

Feather Fall is a distributer of BJD's that sells Resin Soul dolls and the original RS sculpt "Iruhi"

Feather Fall has been irritating the everloving SHIT out of me for a while.  It's not just one little thing.  First I find out that they -will not- be ordering any dolls in Dark tan resin... which in it's self wouldn't be a big deal.  There reason was the problem.. No it's not because sometimes the DT comes with white stuff on it or can be uneven color... it was because they ordered the Iruhi in DT as a LE, and want the DT to be "special"... Ok... OK >.> What ever.  You're dicks I get it.  Then very recently they announced that "HEY! we have a SPECIAL new doll coming out.  And they were being SOOO hush hush.  What was the doll?  Bao head on the Dog body.  Yea... their special doll is a doll ANYONE CAN ORDER.... AT ANY TIME!!!  If I were to email Sun a week from now and request something stupid like a doll with a head they don't think works on it... they will send it to me.  If I were to ask them to send me half a doll... they would do it...

So A month or whenever they no longer will order more "Charm"s (oh.. yea.. that's what they called the damn thing... CHARM)  I could email Sun and be like "Hey.. Bao head on the Dog body?  I can has?"  more than likely Sun will be like...  "Oh! yea what color?"  It's like Feather Fall doesn't know what their customer base, WE know that it's not Limited edition.  You're not going to fool most of us.  Maybe some one who is too new to BJD's to know how RS and BBB work... But those of us who have talked to Sun... we know better... and so does Feather Fall.  And that's what REALLY pisses me off.  They are trying to scam people into believing that they have something special... when it's just NORMAL stuff.  They'll probably charge extra for it.  At which point I will have lost any will to do anything with Feather fall... EVER.  Like ever ever...

But yea.  I guess I might not be getting my "some day"/lotto winner pukisha puki puki from them after all.

History:  When I first saw the Rong head I thought "that looks funny with those ears... You know what she'd look good as?  A fawn.  Those are deer ears.  But she'd need hooved legs."  then wouldn't you know it, they brought out beast legs... At the time I was planing an adult fairy in the lavender with a mei head... And Pretty much I decided that Mei would make a cute girlfriend to Rong.  Then the Mei turned into a Fei and changed from a Fairy to a "Deadwood" Dryad cus the skin color wasn't going to work and I saw a modded fei that I loved.

I hate it when I get like this.  I want to plan a new doll or have a new doll or SOMETHING.  But nothing is grabbing me. It's been an ongoing issue, especially with Lori so far out of reach yet again.  And worse yet a lot of owner pics are starting to change my mind about Yao.  I don't know what I'd do with her but I'm liking her more and more.  But she's much like Song.  I -LIKE- the head but I have no USE for the head.  Honestly my little clan that I have planned is pretty complete at the moment.  I have the fawn and her dryad lover, Cassie, Val and their baby, and the three fairies.  I suppose the only thing that would add more dolls to my list is if the new hooved boy turns out super fab and I end up "having" to have him.  Then perhaps Yao will find a place in my dolls.  Perhaps he would be a satyr, or Forrest king and she would be his elven servant, just defiant enough to make her fun to oppress.  Or he might be a demon and she his succubus cohort...

Either way, it's all hinging on me not just liking.. but LOVING the new male sculpt.  The demon is pretty much no chance, I'd need a beefy boy and the new male body is just too scrawny.  The Satyr thing could work with a devious enough face, but it's so unlikely *sigh*  I'm even starting to like Li who, truth be told, I hated when she came out.  Yes, she was pretty, but I couldn't bring myself to say more than that for her.  now I'm a little more open to her, she's pretty but still not for me.  Doesn't stop her from being FASCINATING since my sister is planning on making her a dark unicorn.  Worse yet there's supposed to be a female 1/6th sized doll coming out "soon but not too soon" So that's sounding like fall. It's supposed to have a new body... and I'm just like... fingers crossed that I like the new head and that the new body isn't super different.  Cus I'm thinking that there's a chance... Lotus might end up having to be reshelled.  I LOVE her as a Bei... but she's sooo sweet looking, and if there's a more mature body... and a more adult looking head... crap.  I'm sunk.  This girl will have to be died purple and become my purple fairy and then Lotus will get a new body and new head.  If it's only one or the other... I might get away with just getting a new body... but yea.  *siiiigh*

Maybe I should just name my fawn and dryad >.< any ideas?

Extras: Tulip is on the newer RS body, and is before the new hips, so I had to really take some serious sand paper to her hips, and even to the backs of her thighs to make her sit better.  She's got both the regular Rong hands and the Yao hands, not to mention she's got the regular feet and the high heel feet.
Story:  This is mom's doll, not mine.  So I don't really know what kind of story she might ever get, if any.  I know mom likes her but I don't think that mom has any plans for a background story or even a character.

It's been a while

Yea I've been out of it when it comes to Doll stuff.  Like REALLY out of it.  But I just had a doll meet yesterday and I'm pretty excited about the idea of getting back into doll stuff making... I think it has to do with the restringing I did.  Helped restring a SD boy who was being fitful and helped out a lot wish she would have brought his head so that I could have helped more... or that I'd have remembered my glue gun so that i could have helped with his sueding but all is in the past.


So A while back my friend (daemon) who isn't into dolls but IS into creepy things said he'd love it if I would make a creepy doll.  We're talking extra limbs, LED eyes, carved in mouths or wounds, anything I can think of to make a creepy doll.  But my own aesthetic insist that I still need to be able to find her pretty.  SO I  think I might start designing a doll.  Not sure if we're talking true undead (Oh stitches would be fun!) Something serpentine (Naga?  extra arms? extended torso?  WHO KNOWS!!! Probably lots of scales.)  or just straight up alien (Additive mod for spines or ridges?) 

I would certainly use a RS or BBB doll for the base, because... Yea even if someone else is funding I'm still just too frugal to buy a super expensive doll to hack up.  Not to mention, I LOVE RS/BBB! they are pretty easy to work with too... So if I wanted to order extra limbs to add arms... Just add it to the order.  It's really that simple.  Not to mention, color is an option with them...

Bad part about deciding is that he'll be no help.  when talking about it, he simply flooded me with creepy pictures that he was hoping I might be able to do. So yea, he gave me ideas, and NO focus.

I am thinking maybe some crazy frankendoll. And I'll buy some extra arms to make articulated wings with >.> that would be badass... can I pull it off? prolly not.. but FUCK it would be cool.

Random bits

So alot of stuff has been going on, some of it fun... Some of it very NOT fun.  we'll start with the not fun.

Not fun: Eldest gets an ear infection, No more than 2 weeks later, Youngest gets an ear infection.  Little one is still miserable with it, poor little thing.  He's been having problems sleeping, had a fever, and after half a week of dealing with that he finally started tugging on his ear so I knew what was going on.

Not fun: I need to start exercising just so I don't feel so dead all the time.  I've been so tired lately most day's after I get biggun to the buss... I fall back asleep for hours.  Like I've slept till 1 several times, and that's just not cool.

Fun: Eldest is doing really well in school!  Had  a meeting with his teacher about him and he's actually doing really well in most areas.  being that He's been diagnosed with PDD (which is an abnormal autism diagnosis) Him doing "better" in all areas and him doing "average" in some and "above" in others... I'll fuckin take it!

Last fun is a bit of a story:  So a while back, there was this fabric that I wanted, but I didn't really have the money so I put it off.  Well it disappeared from walmart, the whole damn bolt.  This bummed me out greatly, because not only was it purple but it had a rather small motif, suitable for dolly stuff.  Fast forward to earlier this week, I'm in the same walmart, looking at their new pretty display of zippers and I turn to talk to the sweet old lady who cuts the fabric.  And there... in this cart that looks suspiciously like returns is a WAD of this fabric.  I recognize it right off and inspect it.  It is neatly folded and almost looks almost like someone just took the bolt out of the center of the fabric.  I ask her about it, You know, Hey is this up for grabs, what is this, kinda stuff.  And she tells me whats going on with it.

Oh this girl who used to work here had me cut that for her, but apparently when she got it to the register her order totaled out at 150 dollars so she decided not to take it.  Simple enough answer right?  She continues the story though.  Apparently this girl Snuck the fabric into the lawn and garden section and hid it in some room back there.  Left it there... Then, for a totally unrelated thing (Oh yea, this is three full quilts worth of fabric, we divided it out, and they were really quite pretty, 2 of them were nothing I wanted but they were pretty all the same) She got in trouble with the office so left a note on her counter stating simply "I quit" and left.  Now honestly most people would have taken the fabric with them, stealing it, but she didn't...  Some security dude found the fabric and brought it upfront and they just pitched it in a cart and sent it back to fabrics and crafts.

This is the point at which I look down and inspect the fabric once again, there is some dust and it's not as clean as it should be but that's not a Huge deal.  Just as I'm about to leave I look down and notice the date on the tag...  2/26/2011 This lady forgot to mention that this stuff had been out there 3 friggin months!! It only mattered because the stickers they use... don't last 3 months.  They last about 1.5 to 2.  Less if the item is deleted (which this fabric was long since deleted)  BUT! I GOT MY FABRIC! and I'm totally stoked.  the backer for the quilt... Was the stuff i wanted ^o^ I have no idea what I'll do with 8 yards of the stuff since I have no intentions of making the original quilt it was cut for (didn't even buy all the purples, some of them were really not that cute) But I am considering trying to make a different quilt.. just don't know what yet ^_^

But yea, interesting stuff going on, not all good... but it's stuff.

Waloli Kimono from Keely ^_^ Oh it just turned out spectacularly.  I'm thinking about getting a hold of her again and seeing if she'll alter the bow for me so it looks more like wings behind her, either that or I'll wire the ones that she put there.  I'm thinking I might have to get each of my little fairies something from Keely simply because she's so fantastic about it ^_^ Little Fig get some wort of little, boy Waloli or just a little Cutsie Victorian sort of outfit with ruffles XD and my purple girl would have a vastly less frilly version in her colors... Just too much entertainment for me.

Long time no post

So I said something about my new gypsy the last post.  That thing turned out to be a headache and a half.  Just like a regular computer it needed to be updated before it would run properly.  No big deal right?  three days later and having to reinstal the software it finally started working.  Just intime for me to make my dad's birthday card on it.  AND OH was it going to be a cool as hell card!  I got it all figured out on the Gypsy... pluged it into my cricut.... "Um... you aint updated your machine yet dummy"  *rage*

Luckily the cricut only took about 15 minutes to finish updating unlike the Gypsy, So I was able to get everything worked out ok.  I've discovered that I'm not allowed to have things hassle free.  My husband's tax money fun allowance went quickly and without a hitch.  Literally everything I bought with my fun money ended up being a pain in the ass or forced me to get something else to make it work.

On to what little dolly info is in this post.  So I still have no leads on a Small comfort.  None at all.  And it's driving me batty.  I just wish that SOMEONE would contact me about one.  I don't really care what head and all that it has so long as I can get one of those little baby bodies... it makes me sad to think that I'm STILL without my dolly.  No word on any of the shoes either.  I got a Email back from release rain and >.> well it wasn't encouraging. something along the lines of "Don't knwo if we're going to get more of what you want... but buy our new shoes!"  >.> *rage*  I HATE being told to "buy what's there" or "Oh buy these new things" BUT IT"S NOT WHAT I ASKED FOR!  it's like these people have no concept of the fact that I will not buy stuff I don't want... PERIOD.  I don't buy things on "well it's the style I like... but not the color... oh well..."  If it's not what I wanted, I will go with out and you getting in some other thing that I can't bring myself to care about isn't going to change that. [/rant]

Soooo I ordered a Cricut Gypsy... and >.>well originally it was supposed to come in 7 to 10 days... which was the 1st through the 4th... then... they changed it to the first through the 7th... then... they delayed it AGAIN! wasn't supposed to come in till the 8th.

BUT IT'S IN! I just got on the website and it says it's in store! EEE! I'm so excited I gotta go get it ^_^ then! I can see if I can use my cricut cutter more for my dollies (and more importantly more effectively)

I'm Soooo glad the hubby and I went to bed early last night.  The little one went and had a nightmare and woke me up around 5:30 ish and I haven't been back to bed.

So I thought I'd talk about Underpants.  Specifically my doll's lack of them.  Both my eldest and my husband are getting upset with me for not putting underpants on my male doll, Val.  My husband because he hates seeing doll junk laying around while I'm working on clothes for him and my son because... well everyone should be wearing underpants don't you know!  So I'm putting aside the Jeans I am very near completing to make some simple undies for poor Val.  It'll be cotton underpants.. probably made out of the same stuff his new shirt is made from.  Not sure if I'll start on them now... or when i wake up from my inevitable nap.

Antiques

So I have a new love of antiques... Turns out many MANY things they used to make they'd make in tiny TINY sizes for other stuff.  So I found this lovely little footed box that looks like an old powder dish or an old round  jewelry box... it was a ring box!  mom found this AWESOME little tray thing that's only about 3 inches across and will work perfectly for putting her... Miniature (read: sample) perfume bottles on.  she found a fantastic sample bottle that was just awesome... cut like a real bottle, with a little glass stopper lid and everything.  shot-glasses shaped like crystal vases, Tiny vases that could not have any real practical purpose, just OODLES of neat stuff.  And a perfect doll sized locket.

New Acquisitions (pics)

The purse strings haven't been real tight lately and the dollies have been getting a little bit spoiled.  Alot of it needed work and the like but I'm enjoying the acquisition of it atm. I'm gonna post a big cumberson post with pics and the like so buckle down.

Now to the individual bits... Bought some fabric from a doll friend, mom made a Chinese dress out of it for Cassie.  It's really fab and fits her pretty damn well.Classy if nothing else. I'm quite fond of it, she hasn't taken it off yet ^_^

Next up is what poor Val was holding and the only thing thats kinda for him... but not.  Jellies for my dear ones.  Bought bracelets and chokers for msd but turns out that she cuts them for larger dolls.  Not a problem... not even alittle bit.. now I can cut them to exactly the right length and Lotus can wear one of the bracelets as a friggin choker!  I thought that was badass.  Lotus is wearing one of the MSD chokers and a bracelet, she claimed them right out the gate.  Left the black one for Val really and he's going to get to wear them when I make some more punkish (or at least short sleeved) shirts for him.

Speaking of, Lotus has a new outfit, bought from BFK ink's 12 inch doll stuff. bought them for the little back pack and purse...but they fit ok... tight but ok and she seems to be enjoying herself...

Next up, shoes!  Lots of shoes. well three pair that fit and one pair that didn't and therefor isn't pictured.  All from Dale Rae and they fit like a dream.

The pair that didn't fit were actually for Lotus.  I figured she could use some shoes, turned out she could use some smaller shoes. :/

Oh and while we're on the shoes... I found these AWESOME boxes a while back.  Got one to store the extra hands and one for the little dodads I've got for the dollies.  But after I got the shoes i couldn't help wanting to keep then neat... probably because I'd recently lost Cassie's other pair and found them again... brand is  "really useful box" and they really aren't joking.  I went back and bought several more after getting all my shoes and stuff stowed away.

Next is my strange find.  Two tiny cast iron skillets.  No I mean it... cast in Iron.  they both had those silly little paintings in them but since they are like... real tiny skillets I cooked the paint off the one I will keep.  Willing to sell the other... if my sister or mom don't want them.  I even seasoned the cooked one to make it look a little more used and evenly colored.

lastly on the "mostly finished" list is the painting and frame.  This was fun... and frustrating... I've found that it's been entirely too long since I last did a water coloring so this one is... lackluster at best  I like the way the frame came out though, and will likely have another go at making a painting... might go with acrylic next time so it won't warp so badly >.> or use actual water color paper next time >.>

Now.. the unfinished stuff isn't really... pictured individually. But the flowers and two glass bottles are going to be vases, mom's got some sunflowers for me which will be a blast to work with and make a fun piece out of.  purple roses and some little thin foam flowers for the other one, should be interesting.  The two brightly colored frames are for if I ever pull my head out my ass and start doing more tiny paintings... we'll see.  but if I do... I'm going to have to paint those pretty heavily, Might actually pull the backer off the green one and spray it black or maybe even coppery gold or something and make it a mirror.  Copper would work best cus I could use any lost paint as patina >.>

not sure what I'm going to do with it...but I found this at good will today... might be a glass or maybe a votive holder... not sure... but it's kinda cool ^_^

Another non dolly specific thing that's cool is I have a Cricut gypsy on it's way to my wally world and a new Halloween cartridge for it... with monsters ^o^ I'm so making haloween decorations for the dolls.... and my kids >.> of course them too! there is a little paper 3d object at the end... we're gonna have fun sending nearly 30 to school ^_^

K that seems to be all the junk I've collected for my dear dollies  hopefully I'll be able to do an update when some of this stuff set up with their stuff...

OMG Shoes!

Ok so there's a little dichotomy going on here... I'm not a shoe girl.  I have a pair of beat up tennis shoes that I wear pretty much every day.  I have a pair of brown shoes... and a few pairs of black heels left over from high school dances, never come out of their boxes.  I just can't get into shoes.  Yea I like pretty shoes... or sandals... but I can't bring myself to care enough to actually go out and look and buy them and find the pair that I like the look, are in the right size and fit well enough that I don't wanna tear them off after 20 minutes.  Shoes are just TOO much of a hastle.

Enter my dolls.  It must have something to do with the fact that they never complain if the shoes are too tight or if they have a funny spot in the sole.  Never sweat up the insides and can wear the shoes indefinitely.  I LOVE shoes for my dolls.  I love them hard.  Heels.  I just got three pairs of heels in the mail (thanks mom! ^_^) and good lord I don't think I could be happier trying on these little shoes on my doll.  I nearly choke at human shoe prices.  I buy them at $20 or less.  Doll shoes... 20 bucks barely bothers me... I get spendy if I see shoes under 20... and if the measurements say they'll fit... hide my friggin wallet. 

Over the last couple of weeks I've gotten cranky because it turned out the shoes I wanted were out of stock... two separate times... That's right.. cranky for days...

What is it about these little shoes?? Is it honestly because -I- don't have to wear them?  If you have a theory I'm GLAD to hear it.

The ups and downs

So things have been a little turbulent emotionally for me lately.  I've been kinda manic/depressed lately.  We got our tax money back, and that was awesome.  My mom's doll came in and that was awesome.  Mom ordered shoes for all our girl dolls... Epic.  But when I'm not super excited about all of that stuff I'm really pretty down about the stuff that I can't do or get or whatever.  Nothing like... On the "happy dagger" level but just generally bummed out and kinda listless.

So when we got our taxes in My love went and spent his fun money straight out of the gate.  And Yes I got a few fun things straight out of the gate but the things that I -really- want are out of my grasp.  Lori, If there was a place that still sold Small comforts, I'd have put in an order already.  But there's not. once again I have the money and no one to buy this damnable doll from.  No company, distributor or any person is currently selling a Small comfort.  And it's eating at me.  Muh Love was quite wonderful and told me to do what I wanted with my fun money and through gritted teeth for effect he grumbled "even if it means MORE dolls".  So I have a free pass to buy a doll... or even two since most the dolls I like are fairly cheap... and the one that I can't get out of my head, the one I want SOOO badly is not one I can get.  It's torture.  I know it seems so small... and really... it is small.  But to me it means so much to be able to get this doll... I've been waiting on buying her either because of lack of money or lack of doll to buy for something like 2 years... and I -just- recently missed one which is the most painful part about this.  January someone approached me wanting to sell their SmC and I couldn't raise the money. Now not 2 months later I have more than enough money and that doll is LONG gone.

Smaller bits of irritation lie in the total lack of availability of cool shoes for boy dolls.  I put in an order through "cool cat" for some Hot boots for Val... and I got an email back today about "Oh I'm sorry turns out we're already out of stock of those shoes" THE FUCK! why did it take you 4 business days to get back to me about that?? GRR.  If it turns out that the dress casual shoes I ordered are out of stock I'm gonna have a fit.  But Cassie has a similar problem.  Release Rain has some DAMN cute shoes, and out of the two that I picked to chose between neither of them are available in black... the color I really want them in.

Luckily the kids are better and my cough is almost gone... it still comes back to pester me every once and again but I'm healthy and so are the kids and the hubby... but yea.  I suppose this is end rant.

FINALLY! (long post ahoy)

So I'm finally 95% over this damnable cold, and I'm FINALLY getting some stuff done.  One of the two commission wigs is finally done and I'm getting to work on the other, slowly but surely working on it a little bit every day.  For some reason these SD wigs are just hell on me... probably has something to do with the fact that I'd rather be making wigs for Lotus and Izuko, but I was having problems with it well before that.  It might be the uncertainty with the size.  I LOATH the uncertainty I feel when making wigs without an appropriate head to try it on... I don't like flying blind.

My mom's Ya is due to come home either end of this month or early next month, we're all so damn excited it's stupid.  in preparation for her coming home mom and I went and did a shopping spree down at hobby lobby and ben franklins... and holy cow did we come out with some fun stuff.  New stuff is littered around my house, I still need to make the necklaces for Xuza and Cassie.  I'm gonna make one for Lotus out of the spare bits, and earrings for Cassie... I've got a full plate... which brings me to my largest excitement.

Dolly bed!!! Mom bought me a metal... Thingy, I guess it was a plant stand or something, and it' going to be converted into a dolly bed.  Not just any dolly bed, a full size/queen bed for Val and Cassie.  I've honestly got my work cut out for me a bit, gotta make EVERYTHING for it, mattress, sheets, blankets, quilts, pillows, the whole shebang.  But when it's done... Oh man.  I thought the couch was cool, I just KNOW this is gonna be epic.  And best part is, if it turns out I don't like the first set of blankets I put on it... I CAN MAKE MORE!  Nothing about the bedding is permanent, it's not like the cushion on the chair where I had no choice to change it afterward without ripping the thing apart.  If I decide to change something.... I can just do it!  Mom's bed is in yellow with green and pink smattered in, Mine... well we all know I can't resist purple, and being that the bed frame is kinda earthy tones Purple will be the highlight and I'll probably go a chocolate brown and a comfy green to join the purple.  we'll have to see what Delights I can get from the Fabric store for this >.>

On a side note, the kids now have those melty beads... you know.. the ones that you put on the little peg boards and Iron them... and after makign a few stock items I've begun making them plants and zombies... from plants vs zombies.  The sunflower came out a little lack luster, but the face is really kinda hard on that one...  the squash came out fantastically.  Now I need a few shooters and some Zombies  to fight off and we'll be going to town.  I do love making stuff for my kids and these are fun and fairly easy, so... why not!?!

One thing I failed to get while I was at Hobby Lobby was magnents.  they had the high powered magnents that I need to put in Lotus's torso so I can put wings on her but I failed to remember to.  I need to pull her wings out of the closet and atleast make her a rig for them >.< poor little fairy... having to run around without wings!

So Saterday, I was all happy before The hubby woke... I was gonna take some pics of Lotus and Maybe a pic to replace my less than satisfactory avi on DoA, definitely get some with my whole crew... And by the time I got back from dropping him off... I could barely move.  I ended up having someone else bring him home and I tell you... I have not been well since.  Today is probably the best I've felt since sat... I'm not 100% but I can talk again, swallowing doesn't hurt, I've just got this nasty little cough.

I have so many things I'd like to be doing... yet I have so little energy that it's just like pulling teeth to try and bring myself to do more than what's absolutely necessary.  I haven't cooked real food, haven't washed more than the bare minimum of clothes... nothing.  Even though pretty much every time I lay on the couch I pick up a project to try and work on... all I've accomplished is to get a few hexes for my hot pads worked on (critically low on hot pads that don't have burned spots on them >.<) 

I have about a million projects on the burners right now.  Wig comishes, Hot pads, Dress for Lotus, moer blankets for the house, Pillows for lotus, Lotus needs her Cocoon for the suitcase, My sisters Suitcase needs finished... Fuck.  I've got so much shit gonig on... and I need to clean on top of all that shit... T_T no wonder I just lay on the couch.

Story: Lotus is the top dog of my fairys, she takes no guff from anyone, she's bull headed and always has to be right.  That's not to say she can't be fun, she loves pranks and the like but she wants them done on her terms and doesn't want to be the butt of the joke.  She seems to believe herself some kind of  Egyptian Muse even though she came to be long after Cleopatra died.  That's not so say she's young or a child, she is in fact some 250 years old, though she won't fess up to her exact age, claiming to be quite a bit older than she really is.  Out of the three she is the most mature acting and the others do allow her to be in charge, or at least defer to her in matters they aren't comfortable with themselves. Her flower is the Nile Lotus or Blue Nile Lily.  Her wings will be scarab wings.  As must be obvious by now, Lotus leans towards an Egyptian theme.
History: So at one time I was like "OMG MEI+LAVENDER= FAIRY WIN!" and I started planning some fairies.  Then I met a lavender doll and I was heart broken.  It wasn't purple... It was a lavender grey!  so things got put on hold.  There had always been a bit of an "Oh bei would make a perfect sister to Mei"  so I was planning a bei and a bao but I wanted three fairies and with Mei out of the picture, well that left muuuch planning to be done.  In the end I decided that a blue bei would be perfect for my ringleader fairy, thus Lotus was born.  Entertainingly while she was on order is when I picked out her name, and Fig, my green bao (not sure if he'll stay a bao since he's still in planning) managed to get a name before she did.  Received her on 1/5/2011 as a late Christmas present ^_^ THANK YOU MOMMY!!

Story: Likely to change, Since Cassie and Val are up in the air.  Cassie and Val's baby... As for her personality, she's a bright cheery baby who loves all the attention you can lather on her.  be warned, she loves to chew on fingers.
History:  As far as dolls with back stories go, Lori has had one of the more frustrating ones.  When I saw the Small comfort... I immediately fell head over heels in love with the body.  At the time I had not wished or wanted for any doll more than Cassie and had every intentions of it staying that way for the rest of my life (oh how foolish).  But seeing that little baby body, with those little baby toes and little bowed legs... I was smitten.  because Cassie is white I had to come up with a reason for this little baby to have natural skin.  My options were, adopted and dark daddy.  Well if you've ever seen Val's profile, you know that the answer was darker daddy.  I started trying to find her, to get here and man was that an ordeal... It's all over the blog but sufficed to say Lori is the reason I started looking at other dolls and ended up actually getting other dolls.  As of right now, her mom and dad dolls are in flux, so right now she's going to be a foundling that my forest critters have found until I either decided to pick Cas and Val back up in new shells or totally rewrite her.

problems

I'm havign so much irritating problems.  I'm wanting to finish my last commission (ever) but I just can't get it finished, it keeps frustrating me.  I have way too much of it done to just tell the person I'm not doing commissions anymore but I've been at these same wigs for FOREVER! T_T  not to mention it's like nothing I do makes these thigns any easier... I'm way too far to be in the "home stretch"... and I REFUSE to start on any other wigs until these are done.. so Lotus and Izuko are both boned until I'm done with them... not to mention tien has a wig that i'm supposed to be making.... and any wigs I wanna make to sell can't start until after this is done... SO MUCH is riding on me finishing these things and I just can't even look at them...

Can I please borrow some Gumption?  anyone?

Hair: Yarn Wigs by me.  She's going to have a bunch of straight yarn wigs.  I suspect she'll be wearing her updo wigs more often than not so I have her pictured wearing one.
Extras: Izuko is supposed to be a geisha so we decided to make her a liiiiittle more Asian looking by evening and lowering the center of her eye.lids.  Essentially we straightened the inside of her eyelids.  Then I sanded off her nipples to nice round pseudo nipples so that she could be a modest Geisha (can't have those things poking through her outfits! XD)
Story:  This is my sisters doll so I have no claims to who she is or what she does. What I do know, is that Izuko is supposed to be a geisha.  She's got Kimono after Kimono after kimono planned for her clothes along with some other Asian flavored clothes coming from my mom.  She should be fun.

So I think I'm really REALLY close to vibrating at my own frequency right now.  I kinda hoped that when I got my second and third doll I would be less excitable about it... but turns out I was wrong.  My doll is now IN our town so I should be able to hold her today or tomorrow and I tell you... I think I shortened my husband's life I scared him so bad when I squealed "Yes" Seeing "usa 52404" as where my doll was in EMS... I hope they make a special trip or soemthing and make sure my dolly comes today... My house might burn down from me exploding if I have to wait till tomorrow at 3 to open her...

INCOMING!

So my newest baby, Lotus is beign shipped right now... LIKE NOW O.O like according to her tracking she's in the air right now... on her way, most likely to jfk airport in New York.  My sister tells me that her last doll took 4 or 5 days from shipping.. so I'm happy to tell myself that she should be here friday, and if she comes earlier.. Ooo I will be one happy little turd!

Unfortunately it looks like the poor girl will go to her first meet without any of her own clothes, without a wig and there's pretty much no chance she'll have a face.  I'm actually pretty sad she has to go to her first meet so much not herself... but I really want her... really badly.  I'm looking forward to her getting here... I am looking forward to it so much that I am repeating myself.. not just here.. but everywhere... When I got val... I wasn't this excited, I mean.. Yea.. I was stoked... but not like this! I am ape about getting a hold of her!  I've got yarn and fabric for her... no paint yet.. but I can't pick that out until I get her here... since she's blue skinned.

Either way I'm rambling... so I stop now... *scampers off and checks the EMS tracking number*
